Ancient Principles. Modern Precision.

The first thing humanity ever wrote down was a ledger.

Long before poetry, before philosophy, before law, someone pressed marks into clay to count grain, livestock and trade. The world’s first records were not stories. They were accounts.

Thousands of years later, the principles remain unchanged.

Every entry must be proven.
Every number must be accounted for.
Every discrepancy must be explained.

What has changed is the precision the work now demands.

I am Daiva Karabas, founder of DK&E Business Group and DK&E Academy — The Lyceum. My career has taken me through operating rooms, accounting offices in Europe and America, healthcare leadership and the federal bankruptcy system — and finally into the practice and the academy I built myself.

This is the record.

The Formation
Upbringing

I was raised by two university professors, in a house where education was not merely valued. It was expected.

Education

I earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting and Global Economy in Europe.

Two Systems

When I came to the United States, I brought the diploma with me. What I could not bring were the rules. American accounting, taxation and labor law demanded that I learn the profession all over again, inside an entirely new system.

I did.

Languages

I speak five.

The Career
The Operating Room

My first profession was surgical instrument nurse.

The Chief Accountant

I became a chief accountant at twenty-eight.

Healthcare Leadership

I led two healthcare branches with staffs of 60 to 170 — every schedule and every paycheck under my hand. Within a single year, I grew them from $6,000 to $65,000 a week. I was named Best in Service among 440 offices nationwide, two years in a row. OSHA, the Department of Labor and corporate inspected my branches. They found nothing.

The Paralegal

For twelve years I worked in bankruptcy, registered with the Federal Court as a Bankruptcy Petition Preparer. Where others saw paperwork, I saw a pattern. Every file showed me how a business falls — and long before the courtroom, it happens in the books.

The Practice
Founder

I founded DK&E Business Group in 2014.

Turnaround

I rebuilt two businesses under one owner, carrying more than $1.1 million in vendor debt and more than $650,000 in unpaid sales tax.

Resolution

I have negotiated with the IRS for businesses in serious trouble — then taught their owners to sit at that table themselves.

Standard

No outsourcing. No revolving staff. No anonymous teams. Every set of books carries my name, because every set of books receives my attention.

The Academy
The Lyceum

I built DK&E Academy — The Lyceum beside the practice, and I hold it to the same standard.

The Path

I wrote The Bookkeeper Mastery Path™ — a program of professional formation for bookkeepers who intend to be trusted.

Bookkaunting™

What I teach needed a name, so I gave it one.

The Forms Library

I created the DK&E Forms Library — the professional working papers used throughout the Academy.

Evaluation

I evaluate every working paper myself. No automated review. No generic feedback. No shortcuts.

In the operating room, I counted every needle, every cotton ball and every millimeter of suture before a patient could be closed. Leave one thing behind, and someone pays for it.

I approach a ledger the same way.

Because accounting is not the art of entering numbers.
It is the discipline of proving them.

Ancient Principles. Modern Precision.
